What is The Frequency Method?
The Frequency Method is a number selection approach built on three observable statistical patterns from lottery draw history:
- Certain numbers appear above their expected frequency rate over any given time window — we call these "frequency leaders"
- Certain numbers are statistically overdue relative to their expected appearance rate — playing the single most overdue number adds meaningful coverage
- Ensuring your picks are spread across the low, mid, and high zones of the number pool prevents clustering that reduces your coverage
That's it. Three rules. No complicated tier systems, no pair logic, no rotation thresholds. The simplicity is intentional — we tested more complex versions and they didn't outperform the simple version.

What we tested and dropped
Before arriving at these three rules we tested many other approaches over hundreds of draws across multiple games. These are things that felt logical but had no statistical support in our data:
- Pair logic — tracking numbers that appeared together historically. Two co-appearances in a small sample is coincidence, not signal.
- Rotation thresholds — retiring numbers after a set number of cold draws. Numbers we retired kept returning unpredictably. Drop this rule.
- Consecutive number avoidance — consecutive numbers appear in actual draws at normal rates. No evidence this helps.
- Cooling cycle rules — complex logic around numbers that had been hot and were "cooling off." Added no measurable edge.
Simplicity outperformed complexity in our data. The three rules above captured the two real signals we found — frequency elevation and overdue numbers — without the noise.
Honest results from our testing
We documented a multi-month experiment playing the Millionaire for Life game at a consistent $10/night budget using two boards per draw. Here is what the data showed:
- The Frequency Method generated approximately 33% more return than our original random-adjacent approach over the same period
- Win rate (any prize per draw) was approximately 31% — meaning roughly 1 in 3 draws produced a small win
- The overall net position was still negative, as expected — the lottery house edge is real and no strategy eliminates it
- The most impactful single improvement was consistently playing the most overdue bonus ball on a second board
